Make sure your medical insurance is up-to-date. If you go camping out of state, you may need to have coverage where you go. This is a bigger factor if you’re traveling to another country for a camping trip, such as Canada. Be prepared in case there is an injury or illness.

If you are camping in the summer, go swimming too. When you go camping, you can miss out on things like showers. You’ll feel much cleaner by swimming in cool water. Therefore, you aren’t going to miss your home shower as much.

Be sure to bring a supply of oranges with you on your trip; they are both healthy and keep mosquitoes away. Don’t throw away the peels when you are finished with them and rub them on yourself. Apply to any skin that’s exposed to keep insects away with no chemicals. It’s a lot cheaper than spending your money on bug spray!
